Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care focuses on aligning your spine so that your central nervous system is free from interference. This system controls everything else in your body, and when you have pain, the cause may be a misalignment known as a subluxation. It can cause pain, inflammation and muscle spasm. With a properly functioning nervous system, you can have better health and enjoy the benefits of chiropractic:

  • Better ability to complete your daily activities
  • Decreased pain
  • Improved mobility

Expertise in Different Techniques

Chiropractic Adjustment at Evans Family ChiropracticWe’re well-prepared to customize our approach to your unique needs. The techniques Dr. Evans may use in your care include

Diversified. This hands-on technique involves a quick thrust that’s applied to your spine.

Drop table adjustments. This method involves a drop piece in the table to assist in a gentler adjustment.

Activator Methods®. This instrument-based technique is low-force and applies a quick impulse to the spine.

Flexion-Distraction Decompression. The spine is given a stretch to take pressure of spinal discs and nerves. Effective in treating disc injuries and sciatica.

Active Release Technique. Commonly used by elite athletes, Active Release Technique (ART) is used to break up scar tissue and muscular adhesions. The doctor may also use a Hyperice Hypervolt, a high tech percussor to aid in treatment.

Therapeutic Stretching. Tight muscles may be a cause of poor posture and recurring pain. The doctor will do a passive stretch to help loosen these muscles to aid in prevention of future problems.

Home Exercises. The doctor will review with you exercises that will help eliminate pain and keep you strong long term.

If you hear a noise during the adjustment, please rest assured that it’s just gas releasing from the joint and isn’t a cause for concern. It’s important to us that you’re comfortable, and we’ll choose techniques that you feel confident in.

The Stages of Care

We understand that when you first visit our office, you want to get out of pain. The first stage of care, relief care, is when we work to alleviate your discomfort. Once you’ve started feeling better, you enter stabilization care, which involves working with stretches and exercise along with adjustments to strengthen your weakened areas. Wellness care is when you’ll see us for routine checkups on occasion to ensure your body is properly aligned, which will help prevent future problems.

If you’d like to find out what we may be able to do for you, contact us today! We offer same-day appointments so that you can get immediate attention.
